Mazda MX-5 Miata

The Mazda MX-5 is a lightweight two-traveler roadster made and showcased by Mazda with a front mid-motor, back wheel-drive format. The convertible is promoted as the Mazda Roadster (マツダ・ロードスター Matsuda Rōdosutā) or Eunos Roadster (ユーノス・ロードスター Yūnosu Rōdosutā) in Japan, and as the Mazda MX-5 Miata/miˈɑːtə/in North America, where it is generally known as the Miata.

Made at Mazda’s Hiroshima plant, the MX-5 appeared in 1989 at the Chicago Auto Show and was imagined and executed under a firmly engaged structure philosophy, Jinba ittai (人馬一体), which means unity of steed and rider. Broadly noted for its little, light, mechanically current, progressively adjusted and insignificantly complex plan, the MX-5 is the profound successor to 1950s and ’60s Italian and British sports cars, noticeably the Lotus Elan.
